Primary Phase 'Great Athlete Visit': Joel Fearon

Yesterday, the Primary Phase welcomed Team GB Olympic Bobsledder and Sprinter Joel Fearon into school as part of the 'Great Athletes' Visit. Joel has a glittering career, starting as a track sprinter with a 100m time of 9.96 seconds and ranks as the 3rd fastest Briton. Seeking new challenges, he transitioned to bobsledding, joining the GB Team for the Winter Olympics and achieved Britain’s best result in bobsleigh since 1998. He recently represented Jamaica in the Bobsled at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina!

All of the Primary Phase children enjoyed a sponsored fitness circuit with Joel and Belinda, one of the Great Athlete's Sportivators, before an assembly led by Joel. At the end of this, some of our fantastic School Sports Crew asked Joel questions about his life and career. 

This was a fantastic event, enjoyed by pupils and staff alike.
